My story is not unlike that of many others. For nearly 14 years I worked an IT job at a Fortune 250 company. I got promotions. I went to meetings. I worked with brilliant people. I worked with morons. I got nervous during each end-of-year Performance Appraisal process, where a Secret Society of managers would sequester themselves and determine the predetermined rate of salary increases for people whose names they barely knew. At some point it hit me…
I don’t care about any of this.
So, in January of 2013, I quit my job. My own quiet, personal, rage against the machine. I’m now on a quest to rediscover my passions, of which there are many: music, technology, culture, travel, and just about anything active or thought-provoking.
